Winter Break Fun Starts Soon- It's Snow Joke! ☃️

Winter fun is so close, we can't stand it! If you're looking for fun activities the whole family can enjoy over winter break, we've got you covered. Read on to discover our schedule of events, and be sure to check out our gift shop before you leave for any last-minute stocking stuffers and Christmas gifts for your science-loving family members.

 

Our Winter Workshops officially kick off on December 23, followed by new workshops on December 26 and 27 (the center is closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with our special workshops starting at 10:30 a.m. Guests can expect a new hands-on activity each day, all included with general admission pricing. This means all current Science Center members get in for free to enjoy all our winter games and activities (don't miss our upcoming membership sale beginning December 14). Step into a magical holiday world where all five senses come alive! At this immersive event from 10:30 am. to 12:30 p.m., children and families will explore a festive wonderland designed to engage their sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste. This activity-filled event is perfect for families looking to celebrate the season through fun, multi-sensory experiences. Make instant snow, play the holiday scents guessing game, make your own holiday jingles with Specdrums, and more! Stop by the Reptile Room at 1:00 p.m. for a Creature Feature, followed by sciPad fun for all from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Please note that space for the Creature Feature and in sciPad are available on a first come, first served basis.


Join us for a festive and electrifying holiday event where science and celebration unite from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kids and families will explore the magic of holiday lights by learning how circuits work to power them by designing and building simple electric circuits to light up winter-themed decorations. You can also design your own light-up winter pictures using LED lights, copper tape, and batteries. Stop by the Reptile Room at 1:00 p.m. for a Creature Feature, followed by sciPad fun for all from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Please note that space for the Creature Feature and in sciPad are available on a first come, first served basis.


Get crafty this holiday season with a fun and eco-friendly workshop where kids and families can create their own adorable polar bear ornaments and mini igloos while learning some amazing facts about these incredible arctic creatures! This holiday crafting event is a wonderful way to make lasting memories while creating unique, handmade ornaments and decorations that will bring winter magic to your home year after year. Stop by the Reptile Room at 1:00 p.m. for a Creature Feature, followed by sciPad fun for all from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Please note that space for the Creature Feature and in sciPad are available on a first come, first served basis.

 

While the museum will be closed on December 31 and January 1, we will be open for more winter fun on December 30, January 2, and January 3. Enjoy the the museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with special activities beginning at 10:30 a.m. You snow the drill, all activities listed below are included with general admission, and space for the Creature Feature and sciPad is available on a first come, first served basis.


Don't miss our Creature Features from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. Then dash over to join in on winter games from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the sciPad.


Enjoy a winter-themed Chemistry Corner today! Join us for a visual chemistry demonstration 10:30-11:00 a.m. followed by hands-on chemistry activities for the whole family to enjoy from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Then dash over to join in on winter games from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on the sciPad.
